Litlanesfoss is waterfalls surrounded by basalt columns located in Upphéraðsvegur, Iceland

Beautiful looking place. The basalt columns bring to mind the Devil's Causeway in Northern Ireland, also, somewhere in the back of my mind I can recall seeing buildings made of those types of columns on some island in the Pacific. Apparently the natives cut the columns out and used them log cabin style to erect structures.

If going anywhere these days involves travelling by plane it's not somewhere I want to go. At one time flying was a pleasure, but these days it's far from it. >:(

You're spot on Fuzzy.

It has turned from a pleasurable experience one looks forward to to a Cattle Car disaster with rude passengers and flight crew, screaming children, cramped seating, stinking bathrooms and crappy food. Not to mention being charged for everything. If one can afford it 1st class seems to be a little better or Airlines such as Nippon still believe in customer service.

I've been wanting to see Yellowstone and Yosemite too....I understand things are getting hot out there though, and they are having to close off some of the park, because the steam and gases are too dangerous.   I'm afraid it will change so much before I get a chance to get out there.

There's so many places I wanted to see in America from Washington DC to the Rockies and the Grand Canyon, the painted desert, Nashville, New Orleans during Mardi Gras, the petrified forest, the wide open spaces in the mid west and on and on and on.

Unfortunately Dez is virtually house bound with a number of problems and the furthest we get these days is a local city about thirty miles away.

I'm with you Fuzzy, I would like to see those places too.

Please give DEZ a few hugs from me. Miss you guys much.

Thanks Pam. We're hopeful that following her many visits to a spinal specialist that she'll be suitable for some pretty invasive surgery to fix her wobbly lower spine. She's in a lot of pain and can hardly walk because of it. :(

The crescent lake pic is quite stunning. I never knew there was an oasis in the Gobi Desert, but thinking about it I suppose there had to be or else the silk route couldn't have existed.

The flower carpet I've seen pics of before, but it still takes your breath away with the scale of it all. 8)

LOL... That brings to mind a little ditty, a hang over from WW2, which we used to sing when I was a kid.

It goes like this....

Hitler has only got one ball
Goering has two, but their too small
Himmler has something similar, but
Johnny Goebbels has no balls at all

I don't know what age I was when our little gang used to sing this, but I do recall I was young enough not to know what balls were. ;D
