With the sun shining on it this Chaste tree and it's powder blue flowers really stand out amongst the greenery.

Further away...

And further away still...

Y'all might recall when this little project got finished and someone suggested that there should be something at each end of the bench, well now there's a container of 'mums and a solar light on each side.... Good idea whoever suggested it. Cool

This Butterfly bush we got from LindaB, you remember her?

And to finish, some general shots down the garden...

Ta daaaa. Grin

I had never heard of a Chaste tree.  I can see that is the star of the garden.  Everything looks so nice.....and inviting.....and it looks to be a very peaceful place to sit and relax.

That is a beautiful vitex  Cheesy They are so pretty when you have room to let them grow into a mound like that! I love the new bench area too, looks peaceful and very inviting.  Cheesy

I prefer wherever possible to let a tree or shrub grow as nature intended. The only other one I saw had been trained as a tree, it looked good, but didn't look right.

I can see why you had to train it as a tree, location, location, location. It still looks good with all the flowers on it though. Cool

I see the bird box on the pole. Grin

I think they are the neatest trees....The place where we bought it ,like Fuzz said was trained as a tree...

It was huge (like a small oak) and there was room for you to sit under it..It was gorgeous..

Pam, I like the way your's is almost arching over the path...Do you have any birdies in the house. Grin

Jojo,  That is what folks in hot climates use instead of lilac  Cheesy It is sadly not fragrant.

Dez, We had tufted titmice raising 1 clutch or litter (whatever birds are called) but nothing in a while. I need to clean it out maybe. We repainted the roof because last summer's heat just blistered the clear coat. It may keep it a bit cooler. Jeff raised the roof with Popsicle sticks just a bit to allow more air flow after we saw our first birds literally panting with their beaks out of the entrance. I'm afraid of predators after that very first episode with house sparrows killing the wee chickadee babies..that's why it's out in the open and up on a pole. Had to cut off the perch too.

Glad the birds used it, Pam, hope they do again..I went around this spring and painted about 6 that the sun got to. Darn sun...I got some copper and put it on some of the roofs..LOL...
