We originally wanted to turn the front of the house into a desert scape, but wound up with this woodland driftwood feather rock scene.

As always the journey is much more fulfilling than the destination and we will be tweaking this all summer.

Front of the house

So lovely! I love the way your garden just invites you in for a closer look  Smiley What are the yellow daisy typr plant? So healthy and lush! Are those sedums there among the hedgehogs and gnomes?
That pond ornament above the house numbers is just perfect there! And just under that, in the big pot...brugmansia or plumeria?

Thank you Pam--the Daisy type plants are Osteospermum " Voltage Yellow", that is indeed Sedum (3 varieties) and the Plumeria cuttings in the big pot are now 2 years old and soon need to be transplanted. Quite a few of the plants are from last year or even 2-3 years ago. That's one of the advantages of the climate here. You certainly know your plants.

Guilty of being a plant collector  Wink

What a lovely orchid! The kids bought me one (my first) for Mom's Day. I'm so excited that it has a new leaf!

Beautiful indeed, I really like the look of your front garden...  And the flowers are beautiful...   I think with every garden, as a gardener, we are always tweaking something... I already have plans to redo the fence line by the drive way next spring... Or maybe this fall....  I hate to start mid summer while everything is blooming.....

Thank you JoJo and Ruth. Birgit loves hedgehogs, as a matter of fact, as kids in the old country, everyone I knew had at least 1 live one. We wound up releasing ours after we took care of them for a couple of months.

We received this from a friend when Birgit got sick, she called it an Angel plant due to it's angel colored and shaped leaves.

it's called a Hoya and there are some really beautiful specimens, google it.

Meanwhile--- Our Orchids are putting on a display of their own:

As is the state of Florida with gorgeous sunsets:

Very nice.... Lots of plants that won't grow where we are, but I wish they would.

Yes I have a hoya plant, indoors here....  The scent of those flowers is absolutely amazing, one of my favorite smells... But they only smell, or I can only smell them, at night....
