Pam inspired me to go take some pictures Grin  Alot of my stuff is gone for the winter Sad  I bought a new pot for 5.00 at the goodwill & filled it with "Devil's backbone" which I think made a really cool mohawk! Grin  It has to come inside for the winter but I think I can stand to look at that for a few months!

Alan bought me new sedums Smiley Elephant sedum, & Rainbow sedum

Elepant ears & Thalia got big in the pond

Red Gaillaridia

Seed pods for Sacred Datura

My pepper plant Smiley Neighbor got drunk & tried one, he then drank pond water to get the taste out of his mouth Roll Eyes

Alan also bought me a staghorn fern . It was in a 2inch pot so it has grown a lot!

Well we dug a hole 3 feet deep, 3 feet around which can be seen here with Emma & her best friend in it  ;)http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?pid=31031531&l=afc92dd1ac&id=1514337973
They got delivered http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?pid=31031535&id=1514337973&ref=fbx_album
http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?pid=31031536&l=bb6a799c4f&id=1514337973
and we hoisted them bad boys up with my truck Grin  it seemed like the redneck thing to do Wink  The one next to the house we had to get a tractor out here because it wanted to swing everytime we tried to pull it up.  Pond was in the way of my driving & pulling Shocked

They grow wild here so they are pretty reasonable.  We got three 12 footers & one 16 footer.  Alan had wanted palms since we moved here but I got a pond & a car & well that list goes on Roll Eyes

I love that cool pot!  Cheesy

I haven't grown Devil's Backbone, but it does look great as hair!  Cheesy

Everything looks so good, I don't know what to comment on first...those ears are beautiful and I love the lotus too. I never planted the seed that you sent me yet.

Can you leave the staghorn outside all winter? I love those plants and those palms! I wondered what that variety was called. We see them all over Port Aransas.

My golden dewdrop suffered an untimely death last winter (safely in the heated tent) and although I love them, I just didn't replace it this year.

That thalia is pretty, I need to look into those.  Cheesy

Grin  Staghorn needs to come in the house, so do the sedums Sad  People eat the cabbage palms around here. Roll Eyes They just chop the top off & eat it  Tongue

Oh yeah I had help! I tried to figure out how I could do it before Alan got home but it was hopeless Smiley.  Around here those trees are 100 each, not bad since we paid that for trees I could load in the truck by myself Roll Eyes

It was 20.00 to deliver them so it was a good deal.  They are looking good. We had to water them every day for awhile while new roots were growing but they seem to be ok Smiley.  We will see how they do this winter.  They are native so they should do fine.

i hope they do well for you. I would hate for you to lose them after all the fun you had planting them, not to mention the money spent.
