I am so glad your not getting the nausea.... That's wonderful.... Do you only have Chemo once a week? If so, that's great....

I am so glad your not getting the nausea.... That's wonderful.... Do you only have Chemo once a week? If so, that's great.... Yes, I only chemo once a week. I am going through six 3 week cycles. Week one I get 3 different types of chemo, weeks 2 and 3 I get only one of the chemo cocktails. I get one called Taxol, one called Carbo, and the third is Avastin for the clinical trial. On weeks two and three I only get the Taxol. I have lost a considerable amount of weight, and was told I need to try and keep my weight where it is now. I need a lot of protein for my muscles, and now need to eat magnesium-rich foods as my magnesium levels are low.

Oh oh..... Now you have the missus spitting feathers over your weight loss. I think I've mentioned it before that when she was on chemo she was the only one amongst the many having chemo who put weight on while all around her the other patients had less meat on them than a butchers pencil.
You're lucky Lil to only go once a week, Dez had three days of Chemo, approx six hours a day, followed by two days of fluid infusion with a five day break until the next sequence. Even then on her days off chemo she had to go everyday for blood work. That went on for six months. A truly horrible time for her.

I gained , but so did most of the rest of the patients who were taking the same drugs. I think it was mainly because you don't feel like doing your usual routine. My heal spurs "healed"....well, they felt better than they had and I suppose that was because I wasn't on my feet as much. I did see the occasional patient who had a problem with the chemo knocking them down too far, and they would catch an infection.....they really had a time of it unfortunately. Most that I came into contact with were breast cancer patients, so the drugs are different....but I did take two treatments of taxol, after I had finished my main routine.
